1.) What book, short story, comic book, or video game would you like to see made into a movie? I would love to see Dante’s Inferno (A Divine Comedy) or John Milton’s Paradise Lost both adapted into movies. I feel that really no good movies have been made about hell and both of these stories do amazing jobs describing it. Also, it would just be very interesting to see a filmmaker attempt to make a movie out of either one.

2.) What is the worst sequel ever made? Jaws: The Revenge, the fourth Jaws movie was an abomination. Not only is it the worst sequel, the film is considered one of the worst ever made. Universally panned by critics everywhere, this film is absolutely a joke. The shark roars like a lion . . . that is the extent of how crappy it is. The film is borderline hilarious in my opinion.

3.) Which book, story, etc. should never have been adapted into a film? I thought The Da Vinci Code is a prime example of a book adapted into a movie gone wrong. I expected a lot more from the collaboration between Tom Hanks and Ron Howard but was extremely disappointed with this film. It lacked so many elements of suspense that the book had. The performances felt restrained and Tom Hank’s hair was disgusting.

I honestly haven’t experienced anything like that. Though, my cousin did when his parents accessed his Facebook through his younger brother’s account. They were under the impression that he didn’t partake in illegal activities (underage drinking). There were some big-time repercussions. What his parents did was low, but I would have done the same thing if it were my kid. Though, I feel that a better relationship (communication) would have resolved this problem much earlier.
If I was starting my own production company, and I found out that one of the candidates I was interviewing had a MySpace or Facebook page, would I look at it? Absolutely. Yes it is an invasion of privacy, but if I have the means to access privileged material that will provide vital information on whether or not this candidate is trustworthy, responsible, etc, I will look at it.

Edge of my Seat Blog

A film that kept me on the edge of my seat was Paranormal Activity. Never before have I been so emotionally absorbed into a film. Throughout the entire film, the “scary moments” gradually increase of intensity. I am usually not frightened by movies, but the way in which the main characters’ vulnerability and defenselessness is presented in this movie made my skin itch. I was literally uncomfortable. The ending is by far one of the most shocking and up until that point, I was literally on the edge of my seat.

Song in Movie or TV Blog

The song that I found most fitting for this blog was “The Final Countdown” by Europe for the television series, Arrested Development. The song would come on whenever the character of GOB (Jason Bateman’s hack magician brother) would ever do magic tricks or a magic show. The song’s overall melody and feeling perfectly matched GOB’s self-obsessed, moronic personality and added a level absurdity and profound humor to the situation. As it plays, GOB usually does a ridiculous dance with a knife in his mouth while doing card tricks. It’s just too funny to explain.

Why did The Joker give multiple reasons as to how he got his scars to his victims? I believe he did this because The Joker was so sane that he was insane. I truly believe he enjoyed striking fear into his victims so much before he killed them that by having a new story every time he could enjoy new and different reactions. Like he says in the movie, he savors the little emotions of his victims before he kills them. Plus, from the writing and character development standpoint, I believe the character not having an explained origin gave him a level of mystery and depth that could not have been achieved otherwise. This is why I think the less you know about a character, the more interesting they are.
